It’s with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that actor Julian McMahon best known for his roles as Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck and Dr. Victor Von Doom in Fantastic Four and Charmed has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was only 56 years old.

As a fan of his work, this loss feels deeply personal. I was first introduced to Julian through one of my all-time favorite shows, Charmed. I can’t tell you how obsessed I was—and still am—with that show. His character, Cole Turner, was iconic. He was layered, tortured, magnetic… and played to perfection. Whether he was battling his inner demons as a half-demon lover of Phoebe Halliwell or walking that thin line between good and evil, Julian brought a depth and intensity that kept us glued to the screen.
Charmed was more than just a TV show—it was a part of my weekly ritual, my escape, my happy place. And Julian McMahon? He was one of the biggest reasons why. His chemistry with Alyssa Milano, his compelling story arc, and his ability to portray vulnerability even while being a literal villain made him unforgettable. He gave complexity to a character that could’ve easily been flat. Instead, he made Cole one of the most loved (and hated) characters in supernatural TV history.
Beyond Charmed, Julian continued to showcase his incredible range as an actor. His portrayal of the narcissistic yet oddly sympathetic plastic surgeon in Nip/Tuck was groundbreaking. He challenged viewers to see past the surface, to explore the moral gray areas of ambition, beauty, and identity. It was raw, bold, and ahead of its time.
He also embraced big-screen roles, notably stepping into Marvel’s world as Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four. Whether you were cheering for the heroes or secretly rooting for him, Julian always knew how to command attention with his presence.
But Julian wasn’t just a talented actor—he was beloved by co-stars and fans alike. His charm wasn’t just in the roles he played but in the way he carried himself. Behind the scenes, he was known to be humble, professional, and genuinely kind. That rare mix of charisma and compassion made him a gem in the entertainment world.
To Julian’s family, friends, and fans across the globe, I want to extend my deepest condolences. Losing someone who has been a part of our screens—and hearts—for decades is never easy. His contributions to film and television will live on. His characters will continue to be rewatched, re-quoted, and remembered by fans like me who grew up captivated by his work.
Julian McMahon was one of those actors who left an impact without having to say much. He had a presence—a gravity—that pulled you in and made you feel. And that’s what true talent looks like.
Rest in power, Julian. Thank you for the memories, the magic, and the moments. You’ll forever be remembered in the halls of Halliwell Manor and in the hearts of those who loved your work.
With love and remembrance,
Forever a Charmed Fan
